This policy explains what information AB Photo & Video collects, why we collect it, who helps us handle it, and the choices you have. "We" means Anton Benedikt Photography, LLC, doing business as AB Photo & Video, Kirkland, WA 98033.
It covers this website, including its forms, and how we work with you after you reach out: calls, email, proposals, agreements, invoices and file delivery.
The short version
- We collect what you send us and basic visit data from this site.
- We use it to answer you, run your project, get paid and improve the site.
- We never sell your information. This site has no advertising trackers.
- We never publish a homeowner's name or the address of a private home.
- Email anton@abphotovideo.com to see, correct or delete what we hold about you.
What we collect
What you send us. Your name, email, phone number, company, and what you tell us about your project. This comes from the forms on this site, emails, phone calls and texts, booked calls, signed agreements, and messages on Instagram or LinkedIn. Those platforms' own privacy policies also apply to messages sent through them.
Project details. Production locations, schedules, the names and contact details of people on set, signed releases, and notes from our calls.
Payment details. Your billing name and address and the payments you make. Card and bank details go straight to our payment processor (Stripe, or QuickBooks Payments on some older invoices). We never see or store full card or account numbers. If you pay by check, we keep a record of the payment and deposit the check.
Visit data. When you browse this site, Google Analytics records the pages you view, how long you stay, the site that sent you, your approximate location (city level), and your device and browser type. Our site host keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses.
Call recordings. We sometimes record video calls so our notes are accurate. We tell you at the start of the call, and we don't record if you'd rather we didn't.
How we use it
- To answer your inquiry and plan your project
- To prepare proposals, agreements, invoices and receipts
- To deliver your photos and film
- To keep tax and accounting records
- To send updates you asked for. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.
- To see which pages help visitors, so we can improve the site
- To protect our business and meet our legal duties
We make no automated decisions about you.
People and places in our work
Our photos and film show homes, hotels, buildings and the people who live, work and stay in them.
- Talent, staff and anyone we direct on camera sign a release before we use their image.
- At hotels and events, guests may appear in the background. Any guest can ask us to remove or blur their image.
- When we work in a private home, we never publish the homeowner's name or the address. Every business that uses the work needs the owner's approval.
- We remove location (GPS) data from images before we publish them.
- If you appear in our work and want an image taken down, email us. We remove it from our website and social accounts within 10 business days. Images already licensed to other businesses stay under those licenses.
Who helps us
We use these providers to run the business. Each one handles your information only to do work for us, under its own privacy and security terms.
- Website hosting: Webflow
- Site analytics: Google Analytics
- Fonts on this site: Google Fonts
- Email, calendar and file storage: Google Workspace
- Booking calls: Calendly
- Website forms, proposals, agreements, invoices and project portal: Moxie
- Payments: Stripe, and QuickBooks Payments on some older invoices
- Accounting: QuickBooks
- Call recording and notes: Fathom
- Writing and admin help: Claude, an AI assistant by Anthropic
- Photo galleries and delivery: Pixieset
- Film review: Frame.io
- Video players on this site: Vimeo and YouTube
Some of these tools have AI features, such as call transcripts and draft notes. We don't allow anyone to train AI models on your information or your images.
We also share information in these cases:
- Crew and production partners on your project. This includes photographers, assistants, stylists, hair and makeup, drone pilots, editors and retouchers. They get the schedule, location, contact details and files they need for their part of the work, and they sign a confidentiality agreement with us. When we produce outside the US, local crew and venues get the same details.
- Other businesses on a shared production. When several businesses split the cost of a production, each one sees the schedule and the delivered work. Each business's agreement and invoices stay private to that business.
- The law. When a court order or the law requires it, or to protect our rights.
- A sale of the business. If AB Photo & Video is sold or merged, your information moves with it and stays under this policy.
Cookies
This site uses a small number of cookies.
- Google Analytics sets cookies (named _ga) that count visits and recognize a returning browser for up to 2 years.
- Calendly, Vimeo and YouTube may set their own cookies when their tools load on a page.
We use no advertising cookies or pixels. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or turn off Google Analytics on every site with Google's opt-out add-on: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. This site works the same whether or not your browser sends these signals. We don't sell your information or use it for targeted ads.
How long we keep it
- Inquiries that don't become a project: 3 years after our last contact, then deleted.
- Project files, call notes and recordings: for the life of the project, then 3 years after our last contact.
- Agreements, invoices and payment records: 7 years, for tax and accounting.
- Site analytics: 14 months.
- The photos and film we make: we keep these as our archive because we license them for years. The releases and approvals that go with them stay on file for as long as we keep the work.
Your choices
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- show you the personal information we hold about you
- correct it
- delete it (we keep what the law requires, such as tax records)
- stop sending you marketing email
Email anton@abphotovideo.com. We may ask you to confirm the request from the email address we have on file. We reply within 30 days.
Keeping it safe
We use two-step sign-in on the accounts that hold your information, and only the people working on your project can see it. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your information, we'll tell you within 30 days, as Washington law requires.
Where your information is stored
We're based in Washington State, and our providers store information mainly in the United States. If you visit from another country or we work with you abroad, your information is handled under US law.
