When Alair Homes Kirkland and Medici Architects set out to showcase one of their most important custom builds, an ultra-luxury water-facing home in the eight-figure range.
They needed more than documentation. They needed a media production partner who could capture the project's spirit with artistry, confidence, strategic precision, and low risk of not delivering a timeless set of photos.
Alair and Medici brought us in not just for our technical skills but also because they trusted our editorial style and deep understanding of how to photograph for builders. The result was a smooth and efficient two-day shoot, built on months of planning, that delivered a powerful set of images designed to support long-term marketing, brand storytelling, and portfolio growth.

- 2 days of on-site production
- 2 days of location scouting (during construction + after staging)

We aligned with both Alair and Medici on the deeper intent behind the shoot. For Alair, the goal was to highlight exceptional craftsmanship and detail across every square foot. For Medici, it was about capturing the unique architectural rhythm of the home—the form, flow, and intentional material choices.
Through early conversations and scouting visits, we uncovered what mattered most to each team. We looked at the space through multiple lenses: structural, emotional, experiential. Our job wasn’t just to show off a house—it was to reflect the values, processes, and lighting that brought it to life.
After two in-depth scouts (one during construction, one post-furnishing), we developed a dual-purpose plan. We created space-by-space shot lists that balanced the architect’s story with the builder’s execution. Natural light, architectural lines, and editorial compositions guided every shot.
We coordinated closely with Alair, Medici, and the stylist to confirm staging, access, and prep. Each space was fine-tuned for its photographic purpose—whether highlighting craftsmanship or showcasing spatial flow. Having buy-in from both sides helped us plan efficiently and creatively days before the actual photoshoot.
April weather threw us a curveball, but with flexibility built into our plan, we adapted quickly. Cloudy skies on Day 1 led us to focus on interiors we could light ourselves. Day 2’s sun allowed us to capture the exteriors and window-facing rooms in their best light. The clear communication and mutual trust on set made everything run smoothly.
We curated a final set of 50 images that honored both perspectives: the technical achievement and the artistic vision. We used refined editing and subtle lighting techniques to create a gallery that feels cohesive yet dynamic—designed for lasting brand impact across both firms.
The final visuals have since been used across both Alair and Medici’s portfolios. They’ve supported press outreach, client presentations, and future business development. Because we approached the shoot with both teams in mind, the deliverables worked across multiple platforms without needing to reshoot or reformat.
This shoot was more than a photo session—it was a true creative collaboration between builder, architect, and photographer. By aligning on intent early, we were able to craft a final gallery that was both beautiful and strategic.
